WITH the first batch of senior high school students graduating this year, Southwestern University PHINMA (SWU PHINMA) announced that it will welcome all graduating grade 12 students to its college programs regardless of their track or strand.

This is in line with the Commission on Higher Education’s (Ched) Memorandum Order No. 105 issued last December, which states: “In the exercise of the higher education institution’s academic freedom, the applicant grade 12 graduates may enroll in any higher education program subject to the admission requirements of the admitting higher education institution”.

In accordance with the order, SWU PHINMA will accept all senior high school graduates from any strand in any course of their interest. Meanwhile, students who finished high school before the implementation of K-12 curriculum but have not enrolled in college are also eligible to enroll in any course they want.

The same admission process is true for the other five PHINMA Education schools around the Philippines, namely Araullo University in Cabanatuan City; Cagayan de Oro College in Cagayan de Oro City; University of Iloilo in Iloilo City; University of Pangasinan in Dagupan City and St. Jude College in Metro Manila.

Founded in 1946, SWU is recognized in the region as a leader in medicine, dentistry, and allied health programs. Named Southwestern University PHINMA under PHINMA Education in April 2015, the university aims to enable students to become the best that they can be by providing practice-focused, relevant, hands-on learning and creating an empowering and vibrant student life and community. It builds on its expertise and extends these to new and other programs. (PR)
