Utzurrum: Respect Maundy Thursday

Chinggay V. Utzurrum

THE world today, puts on a cloak of humility, sanctification and piety as the somber and spiritual ambience of Maundy (Holy) Thursday descends upon it.

Multitudes will flock to cathedrals, churches and shrines to offer their prayers, acts of atonement and denial, to somehow alleviate the sufferings of Jesus Christ on the cross redeeming sinners from the wrath of hell. By dying on the cross amid excruciating pain, Jesus expressed His supreme act of love for mankind. That’s you and me!
