AT LEAST 13 houses were placed under granular lockdown in Talisay City, southern Cebu after it was found that some of its residents were positive for Sars-CoV-2, the virus that causes the coronavirus disease (Covid-19).

The families of the Covid patients within the household and those having last contact with the latter prior to the diagnosis were then subjected to contact tracing conducted by the Talisay City police, barangay health workers and personnel from the Department of the Interior and Local Government, said Talisay City police chief Lieutenant Colonel Randy Caballes.

Caballes, however, refused to identify the barangays where the houses are located.

As of Thursday, January 13, 2022, the Talisay City Public Information Office recorded 110 active Covid cases, from just five cases two weeks ago.

Dr. Lino Alanzado, head of the Talisay City Health department, earlier informed that the isolation facility in Barangay Lagtang is now ready to accommodate Covid patients after it underwent repair due to the damage brought by Typhoon Odette. (BBT, TPT)
