AT LEAST 13 packs of shabu (methamphetamine hydrochloride) were seized from a minor who was drunk and went berserk at the night market on Colon St. in Cebu City Sunday, November 27, 2022.

Police Major Efren Diaz, chief of Parian Police Station, said they received a report from barangay tanods who were manning the night market about the minor who reportedly went wild while looking for someone.

The barangay tanods brought the minor to the police station.

During inspection, the police found from his pocket the packs of shabu.

The minor told the police about the source of the drugs, but a follow-up operation yielded a negative result.

Reports said the minor belongs to a group of youth that is allegedly behind some commotions in downtown area.

Police Colonel Ireneo Dalogdog, chief of Cebu City Police Office, said they could not file a case against the minor, considering that he is just 14 years old. He stressed, though, that they will wait for a copy of his birth certificate to determine whether he is really 14 years old.

Dalogdog said that if proven that he is a minor, he will be referred to the Cebu City Social Welfare and Services Office for an intervention, considering that packs of shabu were seized from him. (AYB/LMY)

THREAT. According to a Capitol consultant, the Cebu City Government is threatening to shut down the Cebu North Bus Terminal at the back of SM City Cebu (left) and the Cebu South Bus Terminal along N. The Province, which runs both terminals, maintains that it operates the facilities as a public service for passengers going to the province and vice versa. /
