2 dead, 1 hurt in road accident in Carmen, Cebu

A TRICYCLE driver and his passenger were pronounced dead on arrival at the hospital they were brought to after being hit by a bus at around 6:50 a.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 8, 2021 in Brgy. Dauis Norte, Carmen, northern Cebu.

Police Senior Master Sergeant Roy Cabahug of the Carmen Police Station identified the deceased as Daniel Enoy, 52, from Brgy. Poblacion, Danao City, and Maria Elizabeth Genita, 73, from Brgy. Dauis Norte, Carmen.

Another passenger who was on the same tricycle was injured following the accident. The bus driver was identifued as Ajie Petalmero, 43, a resident of Romblon.

The investigation done by the Carmen Police Station revealed that the tricycle was on its way to Carmen while the bus was heading to Danao.

The tricycle made a U-turn which resulted in its collision with the bus and thereby injuring the passengers.

The passengers were brought to the Cebu Provincial Hospital-Danao and two were declared dead.(BBT, GPL / CCP)
