2 persons shot dead in Daanbantayan town after a motorcycle chase

AT LEASTtwo motorcycle riders were killed when two other motorcycle riders opened fire on them after a chase.

The incident occurred in Proper Tinubdan, Daanbantayan town, northern Cebu at 11:50 p.m. on Wednesday, August 2.

The victims were identified as Jerome Arriesgado, from Medellin town and Vincent Repangue Arriesgado, 17, from Sitio Malaomon, Barangay Tinubdan, Daanbantayan.

According to Police Staff Sergeant Jelimar Gilbuena, the desk officer at the Daanbantayan Police Station, the motorcycle chase began in Medellin town and continued until Proper Tinubdan in Daanbantayan, where the shooters opened fire, striking one of the victims before they both fell off the motorcycle.

The perpetrators then finished them off.

The victims were brought to the Daanbantayan District Hospital, where they were pronounced dead on arrival.

Police recovered illegal substances and .357 revolvers from both victims.

They also recovered spent shells of .9mm pistol from the crime scene. (AYB, TPT)
