200T cash reward up to solve Mandaue businessman's death

A BUSINESSMAN in Mandaue City is offering P200,000 reward money to anyone who can help the police identify the gunman of businessman Johnson Sy Chiaoco.

Mandaue City Police Office (MCPO) Director Senior Supt. Julian Entoma said the businessman, who requested anonymity, expressed concern about the security of other businessmen in the city.

“He told us that he is capable of giving P200,000 reward to anyone who can give information about the killer or the mastermind,” Entoma said.

Chiaoco was killed by an unknown gunman in front of his establishment on Hernan Cortes St. last Sept. 11.

A week after the attack, police admitted that they are yet to identify the culprit since the footage they got from a closed-circuit television camera and the dash cam of Chaioco’s vehicle failed to clearly capture the suspect who was wearing a full-face helmet.

Police, however, believe that there was a witness who may have seen the face of the gunman.

They are asking those who have information about the attack to come forward.

Even without the reward money, Entoma said they are doing their best to solve Chiaoco’s death.

They also formed a special investigation task force to investigate the killing.

“We also ask the public who may have information about the attack to help us

solve the crime with or without the reward,” Entoma added. (Fe Marie
