THIRTY-SIX barangays in Cebu City have not reported Covid-19 transmission in the past 10 days.

Also, the city has had 278 active cases from 44 barangays in the past 10 days, and 25 of these cases are from Barangay Guadalupe, according to the latest data provided by the Emergency Operations Center (EOC).

The other barangays with the most number of active cases in the past 10 days include Lahug, 18; Camputhaw, 12; Mabolo, 12; Tisa, eight; and Banilad, eight.

The rest of the 38 barangays have seven or less than seven active cases in the past 10 days.

City Councilor Joel Garganera, EOC deputy chief implementer, has continued to implore the city residents not to let their guards down and continue to obey public health protocol such as wearing of masks and observing social distancing.

Based on the tally of the EOC, Cebu City registered a total of 23,814 cases.

The city’s critical care utilization rate is at 19 percent—out of the 15 public and private hospitals in the city, only 166 of 872 beds for Covid-19 patients are occupied.

Mayor Edgardo Labella thanked the people for their adherence to the basic health protocol.

Labella urged owners of business establishments that offer liquor to follow the protocol and remind their fellow owners to follow rules for the sake of their businesses. (PAC / KAL)
