A FOUR-YEAR-OLD boy drowned in the dam in Sitio Abante, Barangay General Climaco, Toledo City, Cebu.

Police Officer 3 Fredenil Cabañero, desk officer, identified the fatality as Nathan Siton Morante, a resident in Abante.

The boy was found by Jomar Librea Sillote while the latter was catching fish in the dam around 9 a.m. Wednesday, May 23.

Morante was brought to the city's public hospital, where he was declared dead on arrival by the doctor.

Cabañero, in a phone interview, said Morante was last seen by some of his neighbors playing near an open culvert in Abante on Tuesday morning, May 22.

The boy, he said, possibly slipped and fell inside the culvert. The water current carried his body towards the dam.

Cabañero said investigators ruled out foul play in the boy's death. (KAL/SunStar Cebu)
