4th freed convict in Cebu surrenders

A 56-YEAR-OLD rape convict from Camotes Island who was released based on the good conduct time allowance (GCTA) system surrendered to police on Saturday, Sept. 7, 2019.

Cebu Police Provincial Office (CPPO) Director Roderick Mariano said Alejandro Anana Arquillano turned himself over to the San Francisco Police Station.

Arquillano was convicted for rape and attempted rape with homicide.

He was among those released on Aug. 19, 2019 from the Iwahig Prison and Penal Farm in Puerto Princesa, Palawan.

Iwahig Colony Superintendent Geraldo Aro signed Arquillano’s release order.

Earlier, Jesus Ranoco, Conrado Cortes and Danilo dela Victoria, all released based on GCTA, surrendered to authorities after President Rodrigo Duterte ordered the recall of all heinous convicts released through GCTA. (from AYB of Superbalita Cebu/MVG)
