THE municipality of Asturias in Cebu reported its first coronavirus disease (Covid-19) case, but clarified that the patient is in Cebu City.

Asturias Mayor Anto Pintor said the patient, a 23-year-old male, is a dietary utility worker of the Vicente Sotto Memorial Medical Center.

The patient is showing mild symptoms of Covid-9.

Pintor said the municipality will no longer conduct contact tracing, as the patient has not been able to go home to Asturias since April 9.

The mayor instead advised residents of the town to follow the health protocols set by the Municipal Government and Department of Health to prevent the spread of the new virus that causes Covid-19. (ANV)

THREAT. According to a Capitol consultant, the Cebu City Government is threatening to shut down the Cebu North Bus Terminal at the back of SM City Cebu (left) and the Cebu South Bus Terminal along N. Bacalso Ave. for operating without a business permit. The Province, which runs both terminals, maintains that it operates the facilities as a public service for passengers going to the province and vice versa. /
