Bacayan fire destroys 9 houses

A FIRE razed nine houses around 12 a.m. Friday, November 9, in Sitio Sugarlandia, Barangay Bacayan, Cebu City.

No one was reported hurt in the incident.

The Cebu City Fire Station received the alarm at 12:54 a.m.

Firefighters controlled the flames from spreading to other houses and establishments at 1:28 a.m. Ten minutes later, the fire was put out.

Initial investigation showed the blaze started in the house owned by Artemio Borgonia.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation. (KAL)

THREAT. According to a Capitol consultant, the Cebu City Government is threatening to shut down the Cebu North Bus Terminal at the back of SM City Cebu (left) and the Cebu South Bus Terminal along N. Bacalso Ave. for operating without a business permit. The Province, which runs both terminals, maintains that it operates the facilities as a public service for passengers going to the province and vice versa. /
