BECAUSE it’s a double holiday on August 21, Tuesday, workers who report on this day will receive bigger pay than when it’s single holiday.

Last Wednesday, Malacañang announced that August 21 is a holiday in celebration of Eid’l Adha.

August 21 has also been declared a holiday in celebration of Ninoy Aquino Day.

Luchel Tañiza, spokesperson of the Department of Labor and Employment, said workers who will report on this day will receive a 260-percent in his daily salary.

The 260 percent is because aside from the 100 percent salary, 100 percent is added if it’s a regular holiday and 30 percent when it’s a special non-working holiday.

“The National Commission on Muslim Filipinos has reccommended that 21 August 2018 be declared a national holiday,” said Proclamation 556 of the Office of the President signed by President Rodrigo Duterte and his executive secretary Salvador Medialdea.
