A KNOWN big-time drug pusher was arrested during a buy bust conducted by members of the Municipal Drug Enforcement Unit of the Liloan Police Station past midnight on Wednesday, January 18, 2023.

The suspect was identified as 51-year-old Joel Serrano Dimacilid, a driver who resides in Sitio Tuburan, Barangay Jubay in the northern town.

Police recovered several sachets of shabu weighing 110 grams and with a standard drug price of P748,000.

According to Colonel Mark Gifter Sucalit, deputy director for operation of the Cebu Police Provincial Office, Dimacilid could dispose of one kilo of shabu a week.

Sucalit said the suspect operates in neighboring towns and sometimes reaches the cities in the entire Cebu Island.

He said Dimacilid’s arrest will have a big impact since he is a known member of a big syndicate that distributes illegal drugs.

He said they are still trying to identify Dimacilid’s supplier so they can conduct a follow-up operation.

Sucalit said they will target Dimacilid’s accomplices in their next anti-illegal drug operation. (AYB)
