PLANT lovers or those just raring to get a feel of the outdoors again will have a new place to visit after an upcoming tourist attraction in Medellin town in northern Cebu had its soft opening on Saturday, Oct. 23, 2021.

Laguerta Perino’s Bonsai Collection features various plants kept small and artfully cut in the Japanese tradition of bonsai.

The Municipality of Medellin announced that Laguerta will open to the public from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. starting Monday, Oct. 25.

Instead of a fixed entrance fee, visitors are requested to give a nominal donation for the garden's upkeep.

Local officials led by Mayor Joven “Benjun” Mondigo Jr., as well as members of various bonsai societies in Cebu, showed their support for the creations of Jun Perino by gracing the opening.

The municipality said bonsai workshops would also be offered in the future as part of the town’s tour packages. (CTL)
