REVISING the charter of the Cebu Technological University (CTU) into a university system and converting the CTU extensions in the southwestern Cebu towns of Ginatilan, Malabuyoc and Dumanjug into regular campuses are among the priority bills that Rep. Peter John Calderon of Cebu 7th District will submit to the House of Representatives on Tuesday, July 12, 2022.

Calderon will also endorse the establishment of CTU Alegria campus, the declaration of Alegria-Badian watershed as a protected area, creation of a Regional Trial Court in Moalboal town and the separation of Alcantara National High School from its mother school, Badian National High School.

The bills on revising the CTU’s charter and converting CTU into a university system had already been submitted during the 18th Congress, but these must be filed again in the 19th Congress since these bills were not tackled as Congress took a recess for the campaign season for the May 9, 2022 elections. The rest of Calderon’s bills are new.

The Seventh District representative who ran unopposed during the May 9 elections hopes that all the bills he has crafted for his constituents will get the nod of Congress.
