Call center agent dies, boyfriend hurt in Talisay road accident

A 24-YEAR-OLD call center agent died, while her boyfriend got wounded after they fell off their motorcycle and got run over by a prime mover truck along the Cebu South Coastal Road (CSCR) in Sitio Laray, Barangay San Roque, Talisay City.

Police identified the fatality as Marilou Hermosa, a resident of A.S. Fortuna Street, Mandaue City.

Traffic investigator Police Corporal Ariel Balde of Talisay City Police Station said Hermosa was riding a motorcycle driven by her boyfriend Roy Aribas, 27, who hails from Camp 8, Toledo City, midwest Cebu, when they met an accident at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday, January 21, 2023.

Balde said the victims were traversing the outer lane of CSCR on their way to Mandaue City, when they were hit by the prime mover truck in the middle lane that was also going towards north.

Both Hermosa and Aribas fell off the motorcycle and were run over by the truck.

Hermosa, who sustained serious injuries, was rushed to the hospital where she was declared dead on arrival.

Michael Brobo, 45, a resident of Barangay Pitogo, Consolacion town and driver of the truck owned by Worldwide Interiors Design Center Corp., which is located Barangay Tipolo, Mandaue City, is now under the police custody. (BBT, TPT)
