THE suspect in the shooting of electric bicycle (e-bike) driver last Friday in Carbon Public Market was arrested by the police past midnight on Tuesday, May 23, 2023 in Cebu City’s mountain barangay of Lusaran.

The suspect, Eduardo Patalinghug, has been identified as the one who shot Robert Tampus, 26, according to Police Major Miles Damoslog, chief of Carbon Police Station 5.

Tampus and his live-in partner Adelfa Villegas, 39, were reportedly preparing gingers when Patalinghug arrived and shot the victim twice in the head.

Tampus was brought to Vicente Sotto Memorial Medical Center after the incident.

Jealousy was eyed as the motive in the incident.

Villegas allegedly preferred the victim over him, which allegedly made Patalinghug envious of the victim.

The .357 revolver used in the shooting was recovered from the suspect. (BBT, TPT)

THREAT. According to a Capitol consultant, the Cebu City Government is threatening to shut down the Cebu North Bus Terminal at the back of SM City Cebu (left) and the Cebu South Bus Terminal along N. Bacalso Ave. for operating without a business permit. The Province, which runs both terminals, maintains that it operates the facilities as a public service for passengers going to the province and vice versa. /
