THIS year’s Sinulog-based champion Carcar City Division will defend its ititle in next year’s grand parade. But before that, it will have to defeat other towns and cities in the Sinulog sa Lalawigan contest on Jan. 12. Aside from Carcar, Talisay City, another established crowd favorite, will also compete in the category. Bogo City and the Municipality of Ginatilan will also take another shot and compete with other provincial towns and cities. Sinulog 2018 free interpretation champion Tribu Kandaya of the Municipality of Daanbantayan has yet to signify interest in returning to the stage and defending its title. Meanwhile, 13 barangays in Cebu City have expressed interest in joining the Sinulog sa Dakbayan, which will be held on Jan. 13. These include Barangays Suba, Sawang Calero, Basak San Nicolas, Guadalupe, Labangon, Sapangdaku, Talamban, Mabolo, Mambaling, Cogon Pardo, Cambinocot, San Nicolas Proper and Inayawan. informally signified interest in joining the grand parade.
