Cargo ship runs aground in Antique; 3 hurt

A CARGO ship from Cebu Port ran aground near the port of San Jose de Buenavista, Antique, Monday morning, September 3.

According the Philippine Red Cross (PRC) Twitter page, the Star Liberty Cargo ship, which is carrying cement and construction materials, got stuck at about 100 meters away from the port of San Jose, when the captain declared abandon ship.

PRC Antique dispatched an ambulance and treated three people who suffered minor abrasions.

Twelve crew members were transported to the nearest hospital, while 10 others are now in the Antique Coast Guard Station. (MCB)
