"I want to see my mayor."

Such was the statement of Cebu City Acting Mayor Michael Rama after his supposed talk with Cebu City Mayor Edgardo Labella did not push through.

Rama was supposed to talk with Labella last Thursday, July 22, 2021 however, this did not happen.

Rama said he was told that the mayor is not accepting any visitors.

Talks about Labella's death were circulating on Thursday night, July 22, 2021.

Cebu City Administrator Floro Casas Jr. has debunked such talks, adding he also heard it last Thursday.

Casas said Labella is still undergoing treatment for his pneumonia.

Casas asked those who spread such a rumor to stop it, adding the mayor deserves to be respected.

Rama, though, pleaded with the family of the mayor to step in and speak out so "everybody will not hide any innuendos, any assumptions."

"We know pretty well that the mayor is in the hospital; we know pretty well that the mayor is trying to get back in shape; we know pretty well that there is something more to that and I wish the family should speak out," said Rama. ( JJL)
