Cebu City clears roads of leaning electric poles

Sunnexdesk

THE Technical Infrastructure Committee (TIC) of the Cebu City Government has started removing from the roads leaning electric poles that pose dangers to motorists and the general public.

Councilor Jerry Guardo, chairman of the Committee on Infrastructure and the TIC, which is under the office of the mayor, said they have already removed electric posts that were reportedly toppled during the onslaught on Typhoon Odette on December 16, 2022 from barangays Buhisan, Sambag 2, Cogon Ramos, Lorega-San Miguel, Sambag 1, Basak Pardo, Ermita and Bacayan.

Guardo said the undertaking is in line with the "Oplan Ratsada" program of Mayor Michael Rama to clear the roads of spaghetti wires and leaning posts.

But Guardo said they are not done yet with the clearing operation, adding that there are still many utility poles that need to be removed in other barangays. (PAC, TPT)
