“ALL systems go.”

This was what Lieutenant Colonel Maria Theresa Macatangay, Cebu City Police Office (CCPO) spokesperson, told Superbalita Cebu on Sunday, August 21, 2022, regarding police preparation for the resumption of face-to-face classes in elementary and high schools on Monday, August 22.

Macatangay said the CCPO will deploy police personnel to schools on Monday to maintain peace and security.

“More or less 300 police personnel will be scattered throughout the city in areas where there are schools,” she said in Cebuano.

The CCPO said it expects traffic to be very heavy, especially in school vicinities.

Meanwhile, Macatangay called on owners of boarding houses to be on the lookout for burglars or to be wary of untoward incidents while their boarders are in school.

With the resumption of face-to-face classes, she said the CCPO will strictly enforce the curfew on minors, which starts at 10 p.m. and ends at 4 a.m., particularly in areas where there are internet cafes.

She said owners of internet cafes should not allow minors inside their establishments once the curfew is in effect.

She also called on barangay tanods to assist police, especially in enforcing the curfew. (BBT)
