Cebu City reports increase in tax collection

Sunnexdesk

THE Cebu City Government has collected some P4.2 billion in taxes so far this year, exceeding by around P400 million its collection in the same period last year, when the City collected P3.8 billion.

The income came mostly from business taxes and real property taxes.

Acting City Treasurer Veronica Morelos said they are positive that they can meet the P6.1-billion target collection this year and attributed the increase to her office’s effort to visit the barangays to check whether or not establishments have business permits. RVC
