(UPDATED) A TOTAL of 673 barangay health workers (BHWs) and medical workers from private clinics were inoculated with AstraZeneca vaccines on the first day of the vaccination rollout in Cebu City on Wednesday, March 24, 2021.

The city used two vaccination sites for these target groups: the Senior High Building of the University of Cebu-Banilad for barangays in the north district and Robinson's Galleria for the south district.

In UC-Banilad, 326 were inoculated while in Robinsons Galleria, there were 347.

Cebu City Health Department (CHD) officer-in-charge Jeffrey Ibones said the number of individuals vaccinated on the first day was "a good number."

He said the Vaccine Advisory Board targeted to inoculate around 500 BHWs and medical workers a day.

Cebu City Councilor David Tumulak attributed the outcome to “a smooth system” of the vaccination program.
