FOUR firefighters from Cebu completed their training in advanced Chemical, Biological, Radiological and Nuclear Emergency (CBRNE) defense in the US for over a week.

The US Government sponsored the training in Colorado from Feb. 4 to Feb. 15.

CBRNE defense involves protective measures undertaken in situations in which chemical, biological, radiological or nuclear warfare hazards may be present.

The tactical combat care was one of the courses the firefighters took to prepare for calamities.

Senior Insp. Paul Patrick Laude, the Search and Rescue Unit chief of the Bureau of Fire Protection 7 and the fire marshal of Toledo City, participated in the training along with FO2 Jay Joseph Payot, FO2 Christian Felix Bargayo and FO2 Kate Christian Sigue.

The US Defense Threat Reduction Agency invited 24 firefighters from the Philippines to join the training. (FROM HBL OF SUPERBALITA CEBU / KAL)
