AN INMATE at the Cebu Provincial Detention and Rehabilitation Center was found dead at 4:45 a.m. Friday, June 29.

The Homicide section of the Cebu City Police Office identified the inmate as Rico Jamago, from Jugan, Consolacion. He was already stiff and was bleeding at the mouth when his body was discovered along the hallway outside cell 79.

Jamago was jailed for an illegal drug charge on February 22, 2013 for violation of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 and was set to be released in August this year.

Homicide investigator Senior Police Officer 1 Winston Ybañez said that Jamago’s body will be autopsied to know if there was any foul play. (Arnold Y. Bustamante of Superbalita Cebu/KAL of SunStar Cebu)
