CEBU Police Provincial Office Chief Colonel Rommel Ochave ordered all police stations in the province to regularly conduct checkpoints similar to Minglanilla town’s surprise One-Time, Big-Time (OTBT) operation.

The OTBT in Minglanilla is simultaneously held with all the barangays in the municipality.

Ochave issued a memorandum order last December 3 directing his men to also coordinate with the different barangays in their respective jurisdiction when they hold a surprise OTBT inspection.

He said Minglanilla’s way of simultaneously holding checkpoints with the other barangays has helped reduce the crime incidents in the municipality.

During a surprise OTBT on Monday, December 5, the Minglanilla police apprehended 37 motorcycle riders for driving without carrying a driver’s license, certificate of registration and an official receipt.

The Minglanilla police launched the OTBT in October.

The OTBT is one of the flagship programs of the Cebu City Police Office.

It is spearheaded by Minglanilla Police Station chief Major Arieza Otida, who was formerly assigned in Cebu City. (BBT, TPT)
