Cebu students join international cleanup

STUDENTS from the Marie Ernestine School-North Campus in Barangay Budlaan, Cebu City joined the International Coastal Cleanup last Oct. 6.

They cleaned part of the coastline of the Il Corso development at the South Road Properties.

They were able to gather around 10 sacks of garbage, mostly plastic wastes.

The International Coastal Cleanup is the largest one-day volunteer work to clean up bodies of water in the world. It happens every September. But this year, a lot of the coastal cleanups in the Philippines were moved to October because of typhoon Ompong (internationally known as Mangkhut), which hit the Philippines in mid-September.
