THE Police Regional Office (PRO)-Central Visayas is now on full alert to ensure the peaceful and safe observance of the All Saints' Day and All Souls' Day in the region.

The PRO-Central Visayas, headed by Director Valeriano De Leon, said it will set up public safety assistance centers at the entrance of public and private cemeteries in Cebu City to deter any crimes.

De Leon told SunStar that no police personnel were also allowed to take a leave of absence.

Police personnel are also on standby for immediate deployment when necessary, while security measures are also being adopted in places like bus terminals, seaports, and the airport for a quick response, he added.

The PRO said the police will also establish tarpaulins in strategic locations to inform the public of the nearest police assistance center, as well as Philippine National Police hotline numbers to call. (From Arnold Bustamante/PR)
