GOOD news awaits patients of the Cebu City Medical Center (CCMC).

Hospital Administrator Yvonne Cania Feliciano announced on Monday, Oct. 7, 2019, that the budget for the food of admitted patients was doubled under the administration of Mayor Edgardo Labella.

When before the budget for each meal was only P25, Feliciano said the City Government will now spend P50 per meal.

“For many years now, the budget for the patients’ meals was not given any attention. It is a pity that we only have a budget of P25 per meal per patient,” she said.

Feliciano added that the P1.3 million budget for the meals was taken from the Supplemental Budget 2 that was approved in September.

The budget increase will be implementged starting this month.

While waiting for the completion of the new multi-story CCMC building, the CCMC can accommodate only 138 patients in the wards for now and another 200 patients at the Out-Patient Department.

On Friday, Oct. 4, Feliciano and other city officials gave free food to 100 patients during the founding anniversary celebration of the CCMC. (from PAC of Superbalita Cebu/RSR)
