Sunnexdesk

CEBU City has suspended the operation of the night market effective Monday, March 16, 2020, following the implementation of the general community quarantine in the city.

In a Facebook post, the City Market Operations Division suspends the night market operation until the state of general community quarantine in the city will be lifted.

“We feel sorry for the vendors because this is their livelihood, however public health is our paramount consideration, thus the temporary closing of the night bazaar at Colon St. We are one with you in praying that may we surpass this the soonest,” the FB post stated.

There are around 300 vendors doing business in the night market.

THREAT. According to a Capitol consultant, the Cebu City Government is threatening to shut down the Cebu North Bus Terminal at the back of SM City Cebu (left) and the Cebu South Bus Terminal along N. Bacalso Ave. for operating without a business permit. The Province, which runs both terminals, maintains that it operates the facilities as a public service for passengers going to the province and vice versa. /
