Coast Guard captures motorbanca from Getafe, Bohol

AN ENFORCEMENT Inspection Apprehension Report and a Notice of Hearing were issued to the captain of a motorized boat (motorbanca) who travelled from Bohol to Cebu without securing a clearance from the Coast Guard.

Carrying 20 boxes of fish and 23 passengers, including two crew members and its captain, Coast Guard Cebu apprehended a motorbanca that was traveling from Getafe, Bohol to Pasil, Cebu City.

The Coast Guard Special Operations Unit temporarily confiscated on Friday noon, August 9, 2019 MBCA Mon-Jin off Shell Island in Cordova town, Cebu.

According to a report from Coast Guard Cebu, the boat left from Nasingin, Getafe, Bohol.

Its captain, Ferdinand Camacho, failed to show any documents and the registration of the motorbanca.

As of this writing, boats weighing 250 gross tonnage below are still not allowed to travel due to the Gale Warning. (Herty B. Lopez of Superbalita Cebu with JGS)
