A POLICE officer who was supposed to be part of the augmentation force in Lanao del Norte for the Bangsamoro Organic Law plebiscite refused to be deployed Saturday, February 2.

Police Regional Office (PRO)-Central Visayas Director Debold Sinas said on Wednesday, February 6, that Police Officer 3 Karl Adlwin Belandres Osorio opted to resign from the service rather than be deployed to Mindanao.

Osorio was supposed to be included in the 329 personnel of Regional Mobile Force Battalion (RMFB)-Central Visayas tapped by Camp Crame to help maintain peace and order in Lanao del Norte.

Sinas approved his resignation, describing the attitude of a police officer who disobeyed an order as bad.

He added that Osorio's action taints the image of the police.

Sinas ordered the personnel division of PRO-Central Visayas to process Osorio's papers, so he can enjoy his benefits like his unused leave credits.

The RMFB personnel were in good condition despite the two bombings in Lanao del Norte on Tuesday, February 5. They will be back in their headquarters in Sibonga, Cebu on Friday, February 8. (From AYB of Superbalita Cebu/KAL)
