Covid-19 cases in Central Visayas climbs to 187

CENTRAL Visayas now has a total of 187 coronavirus disease (Covid-19) cases.

This, after the Department of Health (DOH)-Central Visayas recorded seven new cases of Covid-19 in the region on Saturday, April 18, 2020.

The DOH-Central Visayas, with the Vicente Sotto Memorial Medical Center sub-national laboratory, released a total 256 test results on Saturday. Of the number, nine came out positive, including two repeat tests of previously confirmed patients.

Three of the new cases are from Mandaue City, two from Lapu Lapu City, and two from Cebu City.

There remains to be no new cases in Bohol, Cebu, and Negros Oriental. Siquijor remains Covid-19-free.

Cebu City is still the city with the highest number of cases at 163 (with 15 laboratory negative and five deaths), followed by Lapu-Lapu City with 10 cases (one laboratory negative and zero death); Negros Oriental with four cases (two laboratory negative and two deaths); Cebu Province with three (two laboratory negative and one death); Mandaue City with six (two laboratory negative and zero death); and Bohol with one case, who has already recovered.

No new additional deaths and laboratory negative have been recorded on Saturday. (WBS)
