Covid-19 patient jumps to death

A MALE Covid-19 patient allegedly committed suicide by jumping off the third floor of the Vicente Sotto Memorial Medical Center (VSMMC) Tuesday morning, June 9.

It was reportedly the patient's second attempt to commit suicide.

The 49-year-old patient is reportedly from Tres de Abril.

Police Major Elisandro Quijano of Abellana Police Station said they immediately responded to the scene, but VSMMC management barred them from entering since the patient is coronavirus infected.

The patient was immediately cremated to protect other patients and hospital personnel from infection.

Police Station 2 is investigating the circumstances of the patient’s death. (Guam P. Logroño and Arnold Bustamante)
