CPA eyes new fastcraft terminal in 2019

THE Cebu Port Authority (CPA) has identified projects that will be funded by its proposed P1-billion budget for 2019.

General Manager Angelo Verdan said they plan, among many others, to construct a new fastcraft terminal at Berthing 4.

The terminal, he said, will consolidate all fastcrafts plying between Cebu City to the different destinations in the Visayas and Mindanao.

The CPA also plans to expand the ramp near the Cebu International Port (CIP) so foreign vessels, which are unloading imported shipments and loading products for export, can easily dock and depart.

“The management will finalize the budget for 2019 projects today,” Verdan said.

The budget will be funded by the income generated by CPA as a government-owned and -controlled corporation. (FVQ)
