A DEPARTMENT of Education (DepEd) official has reminded teachers and students to be careful with what they share on social media now that they spend more hours online.

DepEd Cebu City Division Superintendent Rhea Mar Angtud on Wednesday, April 8, 2020, said that with the implementation of the enhanced community quarantine (ECQ) in Cebu, it is best for them to always be cautious with what they click.

“(I) advise the teachers ug ato mga students to be careful sa mga fake news. Maminaw sa mga legitimate sites,” Angtud said.

Angtud added that students should utilize social media and the internet in general to expand their knowledge and skills.

Since students are "experts" in using the platform, she said that they might as well use it as a tool for learning.

The ECQ is also a perfect time for students to spend quality time with their families.

“What is important is to stay home and enjoy their moments with their family,” Angtud said.
