Drug bust yields P3M worth of drugs

FOUR suspected pushers were caught in separate drug busts in two villages in Cebu City within nine hours.

Anti-narcotics operatives seized a total of 265 grams of methamphetamine hydrochloride, locally known as shabu.

The contraband is worth P3 million, a Dangerous Drugs Board value.

At 12:10 a.m. Thursday, November 8, Maryjane Lipitin Deguitos, JhonFri Tapales and Geramae Niala inside a pension house in Barangay Capitol Site, Cebu City.

They yielded 240 grams of "shabu" worth P2.8 million.

At 3 p.m. Wednesday, November 7, Ian Paul Bontilao Cabarrubias was caught in Barangay Bacayan, yielding 25 grams of "shabu" worth P295,000.

A.22 revolver was also recovered from his possession.

The suspects will face charges for violation of Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.

A separate complaint of illegal possession of firearms will be filed against Cabarrubias. (KAL)
