Drug suspect hangs self inside jail

Sunnexdesk

A 22-YEAR-OLD inmate of the Dalaguete Police Station hanged himself after reportedly being depressed following his arrest during a buy-bust operation.

Police Corporal Gerson Alcantara, desk officer of the Dalaguete Police Station, identified the victim as George Bilda Jr., who was caught on Saturday afternoon, Aug. 10, 2019.

He reportedly used the improvised straw clothesline inside the detention cell to hang himself.

“He was caught selling to our poseur buyer one small sachet of shabu, which didn’t reach more than five grams. He could’ve opted for a plea bargain,” Alcantara said.

Bilda was reportedly silent inside the cell even if his uncle, who was also arrested, kept talking to him.

“His uncle was giving him advice to not give up since there was still hope for him, but he would just laugh it off,” he said. (JOB)
