Drug suspect nabbed in Mandaue; P68,000 worth of shabu seized

ABOUT P68,000 worth of shabu was confiscated from a regional level high-value drug personality who was nabbed in an operation conducted by the Mandaue City Police Office (MCPO) Wednesday, July 6, 2022, in Sitio Tamarin, Barangay Umapad, Mandaue City.

The suspect, identified as Renante Baunsit Bate, 42, a resident of Barangay Opao in Mandaue City.

Police Lieutenant Colonel Franco Rudolf Oriol, MCPO deputy city director for operations and spokesperson, told reporters on Thursday, July 7, that the suspect had been under surveillance by personnel of MCPO Police Station 5 in Barangay Opao for two weeks.

Oriol said that after the surveillance and with the cooperation of several neighboring barangays, the suspect was nabbed in a buy-bust operation in Sitio Tamarin.

Bate was detained at the MCPO Police Station 5.

He will face charges for violation of Sections 5 and 11 of Republic Act 9165, otherwise known as the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002. (HIC)
