Drugs, contraband seized in city jail search on All Souls' Day

PERSONNEL of Cebu City Police Office, Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency-Central Visayas and Bureau of Jail Management Penology conducted a surprise search at 5 a.m. Friday, November 2, in the male dormitory of Cebu City Jail.

Seized during the operation dubbed as Oplan Linis Piitan (clean jail) were 15 pieces of tin foils and 19 small sachets containing white crystalline substance believed to be shabu.

Other contraband seized were 10 cellular phones, five cellular phone chargers, five rolls of improvised rope and nylon strings, nine dipposable lighters, two decks of playing cards, 26 improvised bladed weapons, two metallic spoons and forks, and two metal bars.

Two sniffing dogs of PDEA-Central Visayas helped in locating the contraband inside the jail.

The search ended at 7 a.m. Friday, November 2. (KAL)
