Ermita drug bust yields P1-M shabu

TWO men were caught in a drug bust past 11 p.m. Monday, November 19, in Sitio Bato, Barangay Ermita, Cebu City and they yielded more than P1 million worth of shabu.

The team, led by Chief Inspector John Kareen Escober, seized 86.8 grams of methamphetamine hydrochloride (shabu) after the arrest of Cristoper Beldad Bolo, 24, and his cousin Michael Beldad, 18.

At 4:20 a.m. Tuesday, November 20, suspected pushers William Pescante Alonzo Jr., 28, and Jonathan Lawas Roble, 24, were arrested in Barangay Suba, Danao City.

Anti-narcotics operatives led by Danao City Police Chief Jaime Quiocho Jr. confiscated 5.20 grams of shabu worth P61,360, a Dangerous Drugs Board value.

The suspects are newly-identified drug personalities.

They will be facing complaints for violation of the Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002, which sets no bail for persons caught selling illegal drugs. (KAL)
