EXPANSION of the Normal Oasis for Adaptation and a Home (Noah) isolation facility at the South Road Properties (SRP) has started with the arrival of 25 donated tents.

Noah manager Jocelyn Pesquera said the tents are part of the 400 tents pledged by Aboitiz Power Corporation.

“It (tents) will be used for the Noah 2,” said Pesquera.

She said site development is ongoing. Once completed, Noah 2 can accommodate up to 1,000 patients.

The Noah Complex houses asymptomatic persons who were found positive for Sars-CoV-2, the virus that causes coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19).

The isolation facility currently has 350 cubicles.

In a statement, the Aboitiz Group said it was ramping up its Covid-19 response in Cebu by donating food packs and protective personal equipment (PPE) aside from tents.

AboitizPower Distribution Utilities senior vice president and chief operating officer Anton Mari Perdices recently led the turnover of 100,000 surgical masks and over 10,000 coveralls to the Vicente Sotto Memorial Medical Center as well as 200,000 surgical masks to the Cebu City Quarantine Center and Noah complex.

The donation was made by the Aboitiz business units in Cebu together with PT Bayan Resources.

“We can fight Covid because we, the government and the private sector, are working as one,” Cebu City Vice Mayor Michael Rama said upon receiving the donation at the Noah complex. (JJL with PR)
