‘Faith healer’ nabbed for theft in Badian

AN ALLEGED faith healer, who has been placed in the wanted list after being accused of theft, fell to the authorities in Barangay Poblacion, Badian town, southwest Cebu at 1 p.m. on Saturday, March 11, 2023.

The suspect identified as Midsmar Coloran Bantolinay, 29, with live-in partner, is a native of Tamurayan Dumingag, Zamboanga del Sur but currently residing in Barangay Poblacion Badian.

Bantolinay was arrested in a joint operation by Badian Police Station and Dumingag Police Station.

Judge Jaime Caberte of Regional Trial Court branch 23 based in Molave, Zamboanga del Sur issued the warrant of arrest against Bantolinay on August 5, 2014, with a recommended bail of P24,000, in connection with his burglary case.

According to the arrest warrant, the suspect committed robbery with force upon things.

Major Philip John Libres, chief of Badian Police Station, told SunStar Cebu that after the incident, Bantolinay fled to Badian, where his live-in partner lives.

Bantolinay was also previously arrested by the Badian police for illegal possession of firearm.

He allegedly tucked a gun on his waist while he did the healing. (GPL, TPT)
