A FAMILY who allegedly had links with alleged drug lord Jeffrey “Jaguar” Diaz was arrested by Cebu City police last Friday.

Personnel of the Mabolo Police Station arrested couple Lorie Jane Dionisio, 34, and Wilbert Dionisio, 35, as well as their mother, Lorna Cajes, 53, by virtue of an arrest warrant issued by Judge Ramon Daomilas of the Regional Trial Court Branch 11 in Cebu City.

Seized from the suspects, who hail from Sitio San Miguel, Barangay Apas, were 49 small and medium sachets of suspected shabu as well as marijuana leaves worth P1,239,000.

Senior Insp. Dindo Juanito Alaras, chief of the Mabolo Police Station, said they conducted surveillance and a decoy bought drugs from the suspect. He said that the mother had been associated with Jaguar in Pasil. During the test purchase, however, it was the son who sold the drugs.

“Apil sad nang asawa ana mamaligya sad na (The wife also sells),” he said.

Apas Barangay Councilor Ramil Ayuman, in separate interview, said that when he was still barangay captain, the couple surrendered during the police’s Oplan Tokhang operation.

They vowed to stop their illegal drug activities and eventually started operating a barbecue stall outside their house.

However, Ayuman said they monitored the couple and learned that they were still in the illegal drug trade.

Their neighbors also noticed unknown men going in and out of their house.

Two years ago, the couple approached Superbalita Cebu and radio dyHP to complain against seven police officers of the Mabolo Police Station for arresting Cajes over the latter’s alleged involvement in illegal drug activities.

One of the arresting police officers reportedly asked Lorie Jane for P100,000 so the case against their mother would be downgraded from illegal drug pushing to possession of illegal drugs.

The conversation was recorded by the couple, which prompted the Police Regional Office 7 to relieve the seven police officers from their posts.

They were then transferred to Mindanao.

The couple admitted then that their mother was selling illegal drugs in Barangay Pasil at that time, but stopped after moving to Apas.
