FACEBOOK Messenger users across the Philippines were unable to access the messaging platform just past 5 p.m. Thursday, December 10, 2020.

Data from DownDetector, a website that tracks server status of online services based on mentions on social media, showed that as of 7:12 p.m., there are 4,119 reports on Messenger problems.

The data further showed that most of the problems include the failure to receive messages and connect to the server, while others could not log into the platform.

There were high reports of access problems in Quezon City, Taguig, and Cebu City.

But problems were also reported in Baguio, Dagupan, Angeles, Bacolod, and Cagayan de Oro.

The problem, however, is also experienced in some parts of the world like the United Kingdom, Germany, Poland, Hungary, Nepal, Bangladesh, and Malaysia.

Facebook has released no official statement on the issue. (MVG)
