Fire hits Barangay Ibabao-Estancia, Mandaue City

(UPDATED) A morning fire broke out at a residential area in Barangay Ibabao-Estancia Mandaue City on Saturday, February 29, 2020.

Firefighters received the alarm at around 11:30 a.m. and was raised to second alarm at 11:54 a.m.

The blaze was raised to Task Force Alpha at 12:34 p.m and was declared under control at 1:08 p.m.

Mandaue City Mayor Jonas Cortes, who visited the area, was saddened by the event and has promised fire victims hot meals as initial assistance.

As of 1 p.m., the fire is still ongoing.

Firefighters are still determining the cause of the fire. Some residents believe that the fire started after a butane canister exploded. (KFD/JGS)
