Garcia, Magpale at Mega Cebu candidates forum

THE race for Cebu governor and vice governor will be highlighted in the Mega Cebu Candidates Forum “Klarohay Ta!” Friday, April 5, at Buttenbruch Hall of the USC Downtown Campus.

Representative Gwen Garcia and Daphne Salimbangon of One Cebu will present their platforms at 9 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. At 1:30 p.m., it’s the turn of Vice Governor Agnes Magpale and Governor Hilario Davide III.

Both camps accepted the invitation to the forum and confirmed their participation.

After the candidate’s opening remarks of 5 to 7 minutes each, the hosts will lead a discussion on the challenges of urbanization with these Mega Cebu themes:

1. Transport and Traffic Management.

2. Road Improvement and Infrastructure Development.

3. Health Sanitation and Waste Management.

4. Environmental Management (Coastal Resources, Watershed Protection and Water Supply)

5. Public Safety (Drugs & Disaster)

6. Metropolitan Management and Competitiveness (MCDA, Trade and Commerce, and Ease of doing business)

7. Culture, Heritage Preservation and Tourism.

The forum also allows questions to be asked from the audience.

“Klarohay Ta” is the only Comelec-endorsed candidates forum in Cebu for the May 13 elections.

The series started on March 11 with candidates for the Senate and Party List. The month of April is devoted to candidates seeking local positions and congressional district seats in Metro Cebu.

The forum is organized by the Ramon Aboitiz Foundation Inc., Comelec, USC, CenVisnet, myTV and 888 News Forum.
