THE City Intelligence Branch (CIB) of the Cebu City Police Office (CCPO) arrested a high-value target in Sitio Lahing-lahing 2 in Barangay Mabolo last Sunday afternoon, May 19.

They seized from 32-year-old suspect Marvin “Ogis” Saberon almost P3 million worth of illegal drugs, including the brown variant of shabu, said Police Lt. Col. Carlito Apilat, CIB chief.

“According to the arrested person, the brown one, when inhaled, is sharp on the throat, while the white one goes smoothly,” Apilat said.

The CIB chief said they will have their chemists check the brown shabu.

“It has the same price as the white shabu. Before, I saw other brownish shabu but not like this color,” he said.

Saberon was caught in a drug bust with 10 large sachets of brown shabu, seven large sachets of white shabu and one medium sachet of white shabu.

“We received reports of his illegal drug activities a week prior to this operation,” the CIB chief said.

Apilat said Saberon was newly identified as a high-value target. He said they will check if the suspect has pushers working for him.

The seized drugs weighed 430 grams with an estimated street value of P2,924,000.

Also last Sunday, the City Drug Enforcement Unit of the CCPO arrested Redwin “Jumong” Tito, 35, in Villagonzalo II, Barangay Tejero in a separate operation.

Seized from the suspect during the buy-bust were 25 grams of shabu with a Dangerous Drugs Board value of P170,000. (JOB)
